Mythical sirens of the sea, mermaids have fascinated people throughout time. These legendary Sisters of the Sea are represented in all cultures around the world. Through time they have been portrayed in many roles from lovers to demons. Regardless of the manner in which they are presented, they have always been noted for their beauty and grace. Mermaids are truly the symbols of mystery and legend.
The legendary role of mermaids that I prefer has mermaids delivering messages of healing from the depths of the sea to we landlubbers who are willing to listen. Since all life originates in the sea, it makes sense to me that the sea can be a source of healing for all creatures. I like to think I am listening when I am creating my own images of these fascinating creatures.
